The quirky, adventure-focused Basecamp was founded in 2011 at the site of a former Quality Inn. Located next door to the Naropa University campus, the place is a popular site for prospective students and visiting families to stay. Basecamp offers a "happy camper hour" at the lobby bar, and features a basic climbing wall and ping-pong in the lounge area. There is an indoor sauna and hot tub. Basecamp is committed to environmental practices, including solar power and xeriscaped grounds. Fifty guest rooms in total.

Boulder Guest House

Located a block away from Basecamp and across the street from Naropa, the Boulder Guest House (formerly the Briar Rose) is a Zen-inspired, spiritually-friendly place. The place features well-tended gardens and a meditation room. Wood-burning fireplaces give a homey feel to the place. Rooms have private entrances, and are available in both the main house and a separate carriage house. Four guest rooms in total.

Niwot Inn and Spa

The New Mexico-themed Niwot Inn is located in the little town of Niwot, just north of Boulder. Plan for a 20-minute ride back to town. If you're seeking a quieter environment with access to Boulder, Niwot is a great place to stay. The inn features an in-house spa with massage services. Each room has a fireplace.

Several art galleries, coffee shops, and restaurants are sprinkled around the neighboring blocks. Try the 1914 House or Farow for a drink or dinner, and the Old Oak or Winot coffee shops for morning lattes. A three-mile walk or bike ride down the LoBo trail will get you back to the Gunbarrel section of Boulder. Thirteen guest rooms in total.
