With its mix of natural and urban sights, Boulder is a great place for activities and exploration. Boulder is also an excellent jumping-off point to visit the rest of colorful Colorado.
Most visitors to Boulder begin by exploring in-town spots such as the Pearl Street Mall and historic Chautauqua Park. However, just above Boulder is the mountain town of Nederland and the beautiful peak-to-peak highway. Denver and Estes Park are less than an hour away. And mountain vistas in Rocky Mountain National Park and Summit County can be visited in a day.
There are also many arts and cultural events in town. The Dairy Arts Center specializes in theater and cinema, while the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art features numerous special exhibits. Yearly arts events include the Colorado Shakespeare Festival and the Open Studios tour in October.
